DAY 9 : LISTEN
Post a kink related song or music video you enjoy. Describe why it works for you.
I absolutely love this question and have nothing critical to say about it.
Here’s a song I really love.
If you don’t want to listen to the song (I suggest that you do), here are the lyrics:
Your eyes look just like bullet holes
it must be all that crying
you haven’t learned a thing at all
another helter skelter
moonlight has come and gone
the bloody writings on the wall
Chloroform girl how have you been
don’t let me catch you sleeping again
you’re only alive because I like you
it’s been 3 years since you’ve seen the sunlight
but I know you’re having fun
bound, gagged and chained up in my basement
You look just like a zombie
inches from dead and pretty
with purple flowers in your hair
I hear the angels crying just as the devil smiles
all the little pigs will die tonight
I hear the devil singing the most haunting melodies
I’ve got this overwhelming feeling of morbid ecstasy coming over me
I’ll tell you why this song works for me. First of all, it deals with a very serious issue, a very intense dedication to a fetish but the delivery is so nonchalant. A masterpiece of lyrical dissonance. In his voice I can hear how mundane he thinks it is to have a woman chained up in his basement for three years as well as how much of his soul is really dedicated to fulfilling his morbid desires. He treats the slow drainage of the woman’s soul and the deconstruction of her essence as an art-form, a piece of art he has created instinctively not consciously.
My favorite part of the song, lyrics wise, is “I hear the angels crying, just as the devil smiles”
Besides being a beautiful sentence, I love how the angels could be crying for either one of them just as the devil could be smiling for either. Good and evil come in many guises.
Also, I love how descriptive the song is. You know, eyes like bullet holes, inches from dead, purple flowers in your hair.
Finally, I love how beautifully creepy he looks through the song. She looks tragic and beautiful but could stand to look more morose and rundown.
